Let me tell you about a client who came to me a year back. For legal reasons I cannot revel her real name, but let us call her Emily. She was an artist and had a peaceful and content life. But, she had a recurring haunting dream which troubled her.
In her dream, Emily found herself standing alone on the edge of a vast, tumultuous ocean. The waves roared like thunder, and the sea seemed endless. As she looked out, a profound sense of dread washed over her. Without warning, a powerful undertow grabbed hold of her ankles, pulling her into the depths of the icy water.
The sense of being drowned was all too real. Emily could feel seawater filling her lungs, pressure in her chest, and an overwhelming sense of panic as blackness engulfed her. Every time she was on the verge of succumbing to the ruthless hold of the sea, she would awaken, gasping for air and drenched in sweat.
